Back EPS stands for encapsulted post script. It is mainly used for printing in repro houses.
It can include/be vector graphics, text and raster images. paintshop pro and photoshop will output your raster/bitmap images as raster images. Carrara uses vector graphics.
So, to get logos in spline modeler, you have to make them in vector graphics application (think: programs that draw lines and shapes, not programs that edit photographs). Examples of such programs are macromedia freehand, adobe illustrator, deneba canvas (you can find version 7 free on many magazine cover cds) etc. There are also freeware vector apps around. I don't know much about them. I've always used either illustrator or freehand. If you don't have any of the above mentioned programs, do yourself a favour and find a magazine with canvas7. You can do lots of things with it: create shapes for carrara, layouts for newsletters, design and create webpages,...
