If I had to have text arranged around the circumference of a circle
here's how I would do it...
1. Create a single letter and select it.
2. Center it's hot point (edit>center hot point)
3. Send it to Origin (edit>send to origin)
4. Select the front View
5. Turn on caps lock (to unlock the hot point)
6. move the hotpoint to the bottom visual center of the letter (I do
this by hand to I have some control on where it is)
7. Turn off the caps lock
8. Select the motion tab in the properties box for the character.
9. uncheck Lock Hot Point
10. set the center Y value to the radius of your circle
11 check the Lock Hot point
12.Duplicate the character (edit>duplicate)
13. rotate the new character the required number of degrees around Z
(either by entering the value in the rotation field, or using the top
view and the rotate tool)
14. Duplicate the new character (without deselecting) the requisite
number of times.
15. Select and Group the characters, then expand the group.
16. Name each character for the character it will be - then edit the
character to be that number (do this now or hate yourself later - I
speak from experience)
17. Texture as appropriate.
18. Compress the group down, light, animate, whatever....
It's easier to do than describe.
