Back Hi Doug,
Have you tried turning your 3D graphics accelerator down a notch? Try the following and then reboot:
(per Win98 directions) right click on your Desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Performance > Move slider to second notch (Basic acceleration).
I found that this has solved a majority of my error message problems, so far. This setting is pretty stable, although you may not be able to access all of your video card's features at this level. However, I have found this to be a liveable compromise and can still access my TV Output function with it set up this way.
