Lightwave (7.5) only has diffuse set, to 100%, and the color set to 200 200
200 so you can see objects I guess. Everything else is off.
I think the best solution is to let the user set the defaults.

It hardly seems worth complaing about have to move two sliders. You say the
settings "should" be set to off based on what? I've not yet encountered the
program that defaults ALL shader settings to off or zero. Infini-D didn't do
it
and LightWave doesn't do it either.
