Back Just another stupid mis-function of Carrara. As has already been pointed out the only way to do it is to have the bulb outside of the sphere. Stupid.
What they should do is have a "hide if obstructed" option on the flare. It would be checked by default. If a light with a flare on it were to move behind or inside of something that blocked it from the cameras view the flare would not be visible. In contrast to that you could uncheck the box and have the flare be visible even if the bulb that's causing it is blocked from the camera 's view.
This is an example of yet another feature that was available in Infini-D but omitted from Carrara. What makes it even stranger is that Carrara's entire lens flare interface was lifted directly out of Infini-D. Why a valuable option like "hide if obstructed" was left out is a total mystery.

Problem is that when I render, the bulb and the lens flare don't appear. Whudoido? :\ > TIA > Steven
