Bonjour Ron,

The old license scheme of Viewpoint did allow unlimited display on
localdrive but you needed to buy a license (or obtain a free renewable
hobbyist key) for Web display.
The license cost was absolutly hawfull.

Since January however, the license sheme as changed.
>From now on, you can buy a developer license. For $ 995 / year, you
gain license to produce as many VET objects as you wish for one year.
Objects created during the license time are licensed forever.

However, be carefull. This license is only good for hobbyist. The
possibility to interact with the VET scene through javascript embeded
in the HTML page has been removed. For example; it is now impossible
to built dynamicaly driven scenes such as, for example, 3D charts
based on the current NASDAQ.

The full license is $ 25000 / year (and even more for some bvery
advanced features ...).

What's more, forums are the best part of the VET documentation (XML
documentation) is now reserved to licensed developers.

It appears that Viewpoitn is trying its best to kill its user base.

It seems that there is a solution through Atmosphere, the Adobe avatar
of VET that doesnt impose any license restriction for content display.

Export your scene from Carrara to VET and then import it in
Atmosphere Then you can display it on any webpage you like without
watermark.

RF> The Shockwave 3D file doesn't seem to be compatable with Director 8.5
RF> or MX (gives me that error when I try to open it) but the WebXport
RF> looks good running on my hard drive.
