Thanks Naomi & Neil...
Those bogus settings in the render properties were indeed the problem...
I used C2 for a couple of years & never encountered that before...
I'm puzzeled as to why my new C3 did that, since I don't do avi. animations right now...& my C3 is so new, that I've never altered the settings on the render properties page ...
So I guess, for some strange reason, C3 sets all that stuff up, automatically, by default on my machine....
