WORLD MAP Answer [Re: Need to Find a Tutorial on Creating a Soccer 2004-02-15 - By ccoles_avengers
Back Don't feel too badly, Steve. The fonts ARE tricky with some working better than others in the Spline Modeler. But one thing I really like about CS3 is that you can actually have *fun* learning it. So that's a big plus. And having a group like this to share ideas and ask questions has been invaluable for me since I only really started getting into this 3D thing last October, when I first bought CS3 [ and loving every minute of it :) ]. Then, when I joined this group last month, it made a world of difference in helping me piece things together, learn new tips, etc. So hang in there. There is a point in our learning curve where we all have to cross over, but when do, we know it. :)
Cheers.

PS - You may want to try doing your fonts in AMAPI. I first started in Carrara, but switched to AMAPI because of the BEND tool which works great with setting fonts on a path. Afterwards, I import the AMAPI text into Carrara for assembling. You may want to check out this method to see if it helps with what you are trying to achieve.

I am simply learning its "rules". It's almost like learning how to play chess all over again. :) I am giddy, my mind is a whirlwind of expectation as I discover the possibilities. I am already working on some cartoons and posters and biz cards and flyers and junk for the biz and for fun. Oh, plus a new website etc... but really, all I am doing now is delving into it head first. I had basics for the last 7 or 8 months and picked up some stuff watching you folks and reading all the posts, but my interest has picked up since I got c3 and vectorstyle last month. I want to absorb it all now. :) > Fonts have been a challenge for me today, some it likes, others it doesn't seem to...
