Hello Doug,

Yes, I have been doing most of what you've mentioned below, but not
the "new file" approach for *each* imported object group.  I think
that's "the ticket" because then I will be able to just change the
default shader and then save my object groups in the browser for use
in my main CAR file later on.

Thanks a million for the suggestion...that helps a lot! :)
