Just to nitpick ;) They usually don't put the post numbers on the post.
Reason being, if their radio's are being monitored, it's just that much more
helpful if the enemy didn't know so easily which post "post 5" was, hehe. In
place they'd put the unit or force insignia, or the name of the command.
Also, in the ground they have hydraulic ramps that open slowly(or really
fast, but then they need maintainence to get them back down, lol) to stop
oncoming vehicles. They come in the form of either the ramps(ramp side
facing away from traffic), or pylons that move up and down out of the
ground. Sometimes, if there's a long road leading up to the post, they'll
have large concrete barricades or planters placed so that all traffic has to
zig-zag to get to the gate. This is so they reduce the chances of truck
bombers ramming the gate at high speeds.

Inside the guardhouse(I don't know how detailed you're getting), you'll
probably want a logbook(usually light green), a water jug and cups, that
weapon rack mentioned earlier, or maybe a canteen in place of the water jug.
It looks like a two-man post by the size of the booth, though in my
experience, the glass doesn't have mesh, it's just very thick(bulletproof
glass, like 1.5 inches). There's also usually a sign stating something to
the effect of "by entering this area you are subject to the search of your
person and vehicle". Hope those details help :)
