Back Hi All,
Sorry for the urgent post but I have been trying to tackle this for quite sometime and have not yet found a remedy.
This evening I have a meeting at which I would like to present a rough draft of a logo that I have working on. I'm trying to show a variety of materials and I am finding that any glass or transparent material shows the "plane" part of the relief of a world map I am using. I simply want the "relief" part; that is to say, just the countries.
Even though this is a rough draft, I don't want it to be THAT rough. There's got to be a way of selecting or cutting out and keeping only the "relief" part of the terrain map and leaving the "plane" behind. I tried to convert the terrain map to a vertex to attack it that way but it looses all of its detailed relief information. I tried importing it into AMAPI, but still got the same problem; complete loss of detail in the relief.
Could anyone please shed any light on this? We meet only once a month and I wanted to have something to show them. I can show them the logo drafts made from other materials, but the glass one looks really nice and wanted to push that one. We meet in a couple of hours. Any help would be MOST appreciated.
Here is the bitmap that I used in the Terrain Modeler:

Thanks in advance.
