gif shader idea 2004-05-14 - By Matt Geier
Back Richard,
I actually think a gif shader would come in handy. At least for myself. The reason I say this, is when you create a JPG in photoshop, you cannot create a "transparent" background, unless you choose the "save as gif" option. I personally have a project now that has a stop sign in it, obviously with eight sides, I have four corners that need to either be transparent, using gif or I just have to work with. It would be much easier if I could use a gif and just map the texture to my octogonal plane, however, that is not the case and requires much more uv mapping then originally though.
Just my two cents, if anyone has anything to include, please do!
thanks,
