I've got another way to do this, if you need
another suggestion from the ones already posted.

The only way it works well is if you haven't altered
the extrusion path -- it needs to be straight out.

Try this:

1. First off, make sure your original path is centered.
Unless there is a reason to NOT center it, always do
this when you begin a Spline object. Do it right off
the bat. It can save you problems later on.

2. Now paste your first object on the first cross section.

3. Create a second cross section and paste your imported
path again on the second cross section plane.

4. Make sure the second cross section is selected.

4. Now go to the FRONT view. Make sure you you don't
select the first cross section plane by mistake while you
work, but you will now be looking at both cross sections
superimposed over the top of each other, but since they
are both on separate planes, you will only be working
on the top one.

5. Once you have that cross section altered the way you
want it, copy it to your computer, go to the first cross section
and paste it onto it. If you don't need the second cross section
plane that you created in step 3, you can delete it.
