Re: CG Effects in DV 2004-02-02 - By joe_ashear
Back I'm not sure I agree. Of course I want Eovia to address all of MY needs exclusivelyl :) but I think that the low price of the software compensates for a lot of shortcomings. When I was shopping around I really wanted Cinema 4D and all of the fancy rendering effects like HDRI. But the price was just out of the question compared to Carrara's, especially since the "advanced rendering" plugin along cost more than Carrara. Carrara was a compromise, but I got a LOT of software for a very reasonable price.
I'm a new Carrara user, but I also feel like Eovia is very responsive to users' requests. Version 3 seems to have met with universal acclaim among users of Version 2, and that was another important factor for me when I chose the software. And Eovia seems to have some very smart people on staff. In just 3 versions they've got nearly all of the major features we all want. Now they can set about improving them.
