I'll be playing around with them over the next day or two - rendering and importing to Photoshop and basically playing with them. I'll post results.

Hey there Andrew,
I have some of the same curiosities in terms of using Carrara with DV footage and wondered if you could shed some light on G-buffers. The manual only hints at their purpose and was curious how it might factor into video-compositing.
Also, anyone have experience with using HDRI lightprobes to match lighting with video for compositing?
