CG Effects in DV 2004-02-02 - By ccirelli

Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to create CG effects in DV footage, and I'm wondering if
Carrara
is the way to go. My hope is to combine Carrara with Adobe After Effects'
compositing
capabilites to get the results I want.
Here are a few examples of what I'd like to do:
- Add a ship flying over a mountain, building etc.
- Add bullet holes to a wall
- Create a 3D cartoon character to interact with live actors
- Import 3D models into After Effects (maintaining texture, quality, etc.)
Any thoughts or ideas on this? I realize this is a broad question, but at this
point, I'm
mainly fishing around for basic techniques, software, tutorials - anything that
will
point me in the right direction.
