There was a good article about selling 3d models in
www.GamaSutra.com. I recommend registering there to get all sorts of
news in 3d industry. Also open jobs etc... Mainly about game
business, but also some related stuff.
They recommended to either create nurbs (amapi) models or polygonal
models (carrara & amapi) for accuracy and compatibility reasons.
