Hi Walter,

What version of Carrara are you using?  I saw problems like this with
CS2, but not since I've got CS3.  I found it most noticeable in CS2 when
rendering the caustics sample scene with the glass eovia logo and gold
ring; the same scene in CS3 looks great.

Hi everyone.  This is my first post.  I guess I'm sort of a 3D hobbyist,
but professionally I'm a web designer so it ties in somewhere.

One thing that has always bothered me about Carrara (and other 3D
programs) is the  ugly banding I get when I render.  I know it must be
possible to get rid of because I see renders all the time that don't
have it, but after changing all the dials on the lights, scene and
render settings, I still can't seem to get mine to go away.  Here's an
example:
