Hi,

You're using Vegas 4 well your in good shape as far as the codecs
go, for the DVD output I'd definatly go with the Main Concept MPEG 2
encoder that comes with Vegas 4. If you haven't rendered anything out
as MPEG 2 yet then you'll have to register the encoder with Sonic
Foundry (now Sony) which is free BTW. Best advice there is play around
with your settings (the supplied presets are pretty good but sometimes
you can obtain better results) also ask for MPEG encoding advice on
the Vegas message boards. Vegas 4 also has a great MP3 encoder, you
won't want MP3 audio on your DVD though, for DVD your best bet would
be AC3 if you happen to have an encoder or PCM audio. As far as the
encoding and codec's for video on the web I'll leave that to someone
with more experience. Oh one other thing, if you plan to do any
editing on the uncompressed renders, you might want to consider
re-rendering in Vegas to NTSC or PAL DV for the editing, generally
it's easier on your entire system, and there's not really a noticable
quality loss. Hope this helps. Cheers for a fellow Vegas 4 user!

Sincerely, Leviathan
