Back Hi, Here's a new one on me and I could use some help. TS 6.6./ Sorry for the length but iwanted to be explicit. I have a semi transparent object(1) with a solid object on top(2) of it and a solid surface (3) beneath it. When I set a light to cast shadows (ray or map, transparent) the top solid (2) object's shadow is cast thru the semi transparent object(1) and shows on the solid (3) below. Now if I apply a material rectangle lable to an area on the semi tranparent object (1) the shadows no longer pass thru and show on object 3. The MT is a JPG of a name with a matching B&W JPG transparency map. Doesn't matter what type of shadow (ray or map transparent). What I finally had to do was copy the semi tranparent object. On the original I deleted the MT. I unwrapped the UV of the copy and created a total map and transparency map to paint the entire copy. This then rendered invisible, except for the letters revealed by the transparecy map. Rendering this "sandwich" of objects gave me the cast thru shadows on the bottom most solid. So- has anyone experienced the same. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a TS problem that needs correcting? Is there an easier workaround. Does Tide really get your wash cleaner? Thanks Stuart
