Re: Videographer New to 3D needs advice 2004-01-29 - By LST_5@(protected)
Back Quick answer,
A great big enthusiastic YES! Works great! I use both Carrara 3 and Vegas 4.0, they work great together! I learned 3D on an educational version of 3D Studio MAX, but around the time I was thinking of buying I discovered Carrara (Version 1.1 at the time) what I liked best about it was the price and how easy it was to use....it seemed then (and still does now) that all the things I'd grown to hate about 3D Studio MAX were so good in Carrara that there was no looking back. Now don't get me wrong, Carrara does have it's annoying things, but overall it is a very powerful peice of software. Excellent bang for your buck. One other thing, any piece of 3d software you buy is going to have little things that just irk you, it's the nature of the business. No one piece of software does everything perfectly, for example I currently use Particle Illusion SE for my partice effects, just better faster and easier then using Carrara's particle systems, and from a rendering standpoint faster then 3d particle systems in general, pretty hard to beat almost realtime renders. I currently use Carrara 3 for 3D effects/animations in my video editing, graphics creation for my webpage designs, some 3d illustrations, and the odd 3d animation. Anyway end note, I highly recommend Carrara 3.
Sincerely, Leviathan
