Carrara is compatible with any NLE, since it produces .avi files.  If
the NLE can handle them, it can handle Carrara's output.

I think it would.  You might want to check out the user's galleries at
www.eovia.com and at www.digitalcarversguild.com to see what can be
done with Carrara, and with some of the plugins added.  There are some
other plugin makers out there, but I don't know the links off hand.
They should be at the Eovia site.
