Drxdon,

Thank you for the kind words.  The trees are textures, but the 3D effect is
more a function of the shadows that are created....created simply by placing
their alpha maps at 90 degrees to the tree plane and selected them cast and
not receive shadows.  There is also a Tom Grimes shader that will render
them invisible but still cast shadows.

The plane that held the tree image was placed to face the camera and the
plane that held the shadows was placed to face the UFO.  Notice that the
camera only moves up and down.  Had I added a tracking shot left to right,
the illusion would have been spoiled.
