Oh, man, those advanced tree settings are brutal. I'm proud to have gotten as far as I did. If someone wants to write a tutorial for the advanced tree settings *in English* I'd be delighted. > 2) doorknob.. man, get some brasso on that thing!
It's based on a real doorknob, which does look that bad. It doesn't even look like metal, the real one

True. It's actually a photo of me on a foggy day in Venice (no joke). I chose a low- contrast photo, because I didn't want the content of the photo to be a major focal point. But the reflection of a window, which is off-camera to the left, blows the whole thing away. Alas.

That's a heat register. Our house is about 50 years old, and it has these nifty neo- deco registers. Kind of an inside joke of sorts, since it's not a shape anyone would recognize.

I wonder if that's a function of the fact that everything off camera is really simple. There's actually a doorway behind the camera, which was meant to give a little modulation to the sky light and reflections, but not much else. So there's not a lot of detail for the lighting to respond to.

Thanks... it's interesting to see how others view the picture. To me, the reflection in the picture on the left and the mysterious white mass outside the window are the main glitches. Oh, and the gaps in the grout. I don't know what the deal is with those. I used the highest quality anti-aliasing. Sigh.
