For what you want it for, definitely get Cinema 4D. It's easy to use,
got lots better polygon modelling tools and the particle system is
excellent. You won't regret the extra money in the long run. Carrara
has a nice renderer and great shading system but for what you want it
for it isn't really suitable. Just my 2 cents.
