An idea to a path 2004-05-07 - By Dave Angelini
Back Vincent,
Yes I know that but the difficulty with drawing splines is the same as that for paths. It is difficult to make fine adjustments to the position of a spline/path in 3D space as you have no spacial context to work with given that it is only a line in space. Using something a bit more meaty, like links in an IK chain, would be easier. Also, the way MoStu reacts when editing link positions would preserve the essence of the a patch curve as you move the links around.
Thanks, Dave Angelini

Forgive me if you already know this.
You can draw out a spline and use the curve to path tool to turn the spline into a path. There are also curve conversion options to determine how the keyframes are divided between the spline points. Tweaking the spline before converting it will be a lot simpler as there are way less control points to contend with.
Cheers,
