Videographer New to 3D needs advice 2004-01-27 - By David Bell
Back I am a former TV producer. I do special effects now, and I have worked with Maya, Lightwave, and Carrara.
Carrara is the easiest to learn and has a capable and fast renderer. Like all 3d apps it requires a certain amount of study and dedication to use.
In the end it is the skill of the operator, all of these packages will generate quality video ready for AfterEffects or FCP.

I'm a videographer and want to get into 3D. I have heard awesome things about Carrara. Does anyone know if Carrara is compatable with a NLE called Vegas 4.0? Other Videographers are suggesting Cinema 4D and Lightwave but I think Carrara would have the least learning curve. I do music video's and shorts films and would like to incorporate 3D. I also do special effects and work a lot with particle and lighting effects . Any advice. Thanks Dave
