Back One of the things I have found on triangles and quadrangles is that if you build a model and get it almost complete as quadrangles and it suddenly develops a "junkpile" you can use the triangulate option to smooth it out again. Of course then you have way too many definitions and can not do any more modelling so hold this for the last. There may be places that take a crease where you need to delete a line or too for subtler smoothing.
