I use CorelDraw 8 for converting ACAD geometry to .ai files. Using the
clipboard, I copy the shapes out of ACAD and paste them into Corel, then, I
export as a v3 .ai file. When you paste, you need to "Paste Special", then,
select "Picture (Metafile)". For some reason, a rectangle the color of your
background is also pasted in, so, you will need to delete it.
