As a workaround try this...

1) Check the "Enable Physics" and "Save Tweener Data" checkboxes at the
bottom of your Scene -> Effects tab (CTRL-SHIFT-T)
2) Do whatever you need to do to get the animation the way you want.
3) Uncheck the "Enable Physics" checkbox at the bottom of your Scene ->
Effects tab.

>From this point forward Carrara will only replay the last physics that was
recorded while "Enable Physics" was checked.
