Hi,

CS3 accepts up to Illustrator 8 file types.  I've been
converting .dwg to .ai files in Illustrator CS and then importing
them into the CS3 spline modeller without problems (except needing
to rescale them in the assembly room).  All my .ai conversions have
been in the 725kb size range which seems rather excessive for simple
profiles but they work. If you can export to .ai (version 8 or
lower) rather than .eps you may this works.

I hope this helps.

Philip
