wrapping a flat ribbon? 2004-01-16 - By Douglas Alden Peterson

Without seeing it, I'm guessing a bit, but I think this will work ...
1. Create your pole in the Vertex Modeler. 2. Go back into the Assemble Room and Duplicate the pole and re-enter the Modeling Room with the duplicate. Before crreating the ribbon using the orriginal pole object, reduce the diameter of the pole just a little bit so that the ribbon will be partially embedded in the pole. 3. Construct the ribbon from the pole object and make sure you crease the edges of the ribbon but leave the sides of it smooth.
