Why does Eovia have 2 programs?Carrara and amapi-- stupid question

I think it would make sense to make Amapi a module of Carrara, just like one
of its rooms... however, I would not combine the two.

(For that matter, I'd like to see some sort of KILLER particle engine as a
module.)

You need to remember that Carrara and Amapi are mainly aimed for 2 different
markets. There are a large number of industrial designers who use Amapi for
there own needs and really like a focused modeling package. If we combine
Carrara and Amapi one or the other is going to loose its appeal to a group
of dedicated people. Both Carrara and Amapi perform similar functions but in
the end are vastly different. We could integrate the 2 programs but would
you, the user, be willing to pay for those additions? After all, adding all
of the modeling functions may bring us closer feature wise to Lightwave and
Max but it will also bring us closer price wise.

on one side we have carrara and on the other amapi.

What i don't get is why does eovia bring in the toolset from amapi
to carrara to make it even better?

why would someone go out and buy both apps?

and a lot of people seem to model in amapi but render in carrara.

i don't know, i just have barely looked at amapi myself and feel
that is is kinda ridiculous to go out and pay more just to go a
nurbs modeler wich should be included in carrara.

myself i think both apps should be combined in some shape or form
and it would bring it to par with the likes or 3ds or even lightwave.

let me know what yout think.

thanks
