Back RLA and RPF include depth buffer information, otherwise they are just images. So, no real 3D in AE. There is a photoshop import/export plugin available, but last time i tested it, it crashed carrara. It was with version 1 though, so this may have been fixed. Have to check this...
You just propably have to render a tiff or targa with alpha channel. Then use that in your composition and use AEs transformations to do the trick.
