I just played a bit more and I probably didn't need to make the
plugins at all.  The Rotate (r) will let you clamp to 45 degree
increments.  It just shows I'm still not pro yet with Carrara.

But anyway, nothing like a problem to annoy me. :)  Now I can file it
away as done and clear the old heed.
