Is there a way 2003-12-24 - By debadger
Back I doubt it, but it could be a scale thing, if your software can scale _before_ export experiment with scaling up a bit. But too large can also cause problems. Take a look at the export software's options too, it might be possible to widen the 'crease' angle, but I'm not sure about that. I've got no problem with fiddling with my models in Carrara after exporting from Autocad; my only change is to increase resolution as far as Acad will go. Come to think of it, increasing resolution might help you too.

Is there a way to stop Carrara importing models with creases.
I make my models in 3rd party software and import them as 3ds files but sometimes it imports them with hard sharp edges that I can only get rid off by converting to vertex models and smoothing all. The original model already is smooth so I shouldnt have to do this.
(Plus it resizes the model to huge proportions when I convert it and makes it difficult to resize back to its original size and position.
Thanks for any replies.
Cheers
