Re: what do you see for carrara 's future? 2003-12-15 - By Isaac Fulkerson
Back Whoa, here we go!
I see the 3D market as going 2 directions. Movies and games! So far Carrara only really supports the movie portion. With it's current price tag and ease of use, it is aimed perfectly at the hobbyist for both of these fields!
For the Movie portion I think that it needs to have support for network style rendering as in the recent discussion here.
For Games, Carrara needs a lot. More file formats! More export plug-ins will work for this, but having them right out of the box would be awesome! Export for bone based animation. Perhaps an export of code, like OpenGL or even DirectX(Mac users, don't playa hate) code like some apps do. Maybe even import code for the use of .car files in external programs! It seems your file format does everything, let me use it in other places.
I'm sure I could come up with more, given time. I like this program! It's hard to complain or critique something that you really like!
