And it was always that maya was dominant in FX scene. SoftImage ruled
for years and was the soft you needed to know if you wanted job in
hollywood. Alias |Wavefront had good programs, but they weren't so
widely used. Then Alias developed maya to replace older products, and
BOOM! It was a hit and has been growing hugely.

They did their work well. They listened to users and provided
flexible tools for their tasks. And released a product that had
features that other could only dream about... Product can be highly
priced if it offers you enough value for your money. And if you can
skim the cream with premium priced products, you will have a healthy
company.
