Thanks for weighing in with those numbers Carl. I'm not sure how far and
wide 3DXtract has spread so far but that download amount would account for
just a bit more people than we have members here, which doesn't surprise
me.

The thing about Carrara/Eovia is it's  really still relatively new. Packages
like
Strata3D, LightWave, and 3DSMax (and their parents Strata, NewTek, and
Discreate) have been around for-ev-er. They're rocks. Carrara unfortunatly
comes from shakey roots. Specular (maker of Infini-D) went bye-bye only to
be shortly followed by Meta (who was responsible for Specular's going
bye-bye in the first place) leaving us with dead apps.

If the type of leaps and bounds that Carrara made from v1 to v3 continue in
future releases (especially at these prices) I've no doubt that the user base
will expand to the point where it is mentioned in the same circles as the
above named apps. This of course hinges on Eovia sticking around which I
hope, hope, hope, they do. After being both a Specular and a Meta customer
you can see why I might be nervous.

By the way, the second issue of 3DXtract was great. I think it's existance
alone can only help to spread the Carrara name.
