Back Hadn't ever seen this mentioned here before so I figured I'd bring it to the groups attention for those who were unaware.....
In my opinion, the one major drawback to 3D modeling as opposed to actual sculpting (or any other form of fine art) is that the finished product is not tangible. I'm sure many of us (myself included) have at some point, modeled something, whatever it may be, that we'd like to acctually be able to hold in our hands or sit on our desks rather than just look at on the screen.
This place (see link) uses a relativly inexpensive form or rapid prototyping that can turn 3D models (yes, ones made in Carrara too) into real ones. This, is quite cool...
