solution, build your own figures. Carrara is useful for that, I personally prefer Amapi, however.

Solution, build your own. Carrara is useful for that.

Solution, make your own facial animation morphs, and use the program called Mimic. Carrara is very useful for building morphs.

All Poser is, is a character animation tool. That is ALL it is. Motionbuilder is in the same league, but much higher end. You do NOT have to use the content that comes with Poser. You do not even have to buy content for Poser. I know several people that hardly buy anything for Poser and simply use it for ... character animation for their own models.
shrug.
I would like to have Poser functionality in Carrara. Or at least a full set of character animation tools in Carrara, barring a plugin. SOMEthing for character animation for Carrara, anyway. Though I will say, optimally it would be nice to have good character animation native to Carrara. But it does not exist yet.
I hope this thread doesn't dissuade the creation of a character animation plugin. Zmorphics is working on one for both Poser and Motionbuilder. It will be highly useful for all kinds of projects.
