I had some max files to convert some time back and I asked, either here or
in the Caligari forum how to do it and a few freeware ways were suggested.
The first one I tried worked just fine.

I'm afraid I don't rememember what that was but there is at least one
freeware program to convert from max to cob or at least to obj.
