Re: Example of poser in CS3---- warning nudity !!! 2003-12-12 - By bijou
Back hey, not bad... I have a similar render of a poser figure in the same default room, when I was tweaking my shaders. I'd suggest shes out of scale and you didnt apply transparency to her hair in your renders though.
this is my render of a similar scene. (nudity)

personally I think Carrara is almost as capable as high end (way more expensive) apps regarding how it renders, and I can get Poser figures in C3 with no problem at all, once I figured out its little quirks. Poser figures (especially those from Daz) can look breathtakingly real if you pose and texture them well... the problem is not many do.
Animation is also an art, not just modelling and/or texturing. In studios you'll find different people doing those different tasks. So this ... damn, you didn't model it yourself thing doesnt really wash there. Its very hard to make a 3d human model to animate and emote realistically.
I know I know... I need to get a tutorial together on how to do Poser importing well. It really doesn't take me but a few minutes to do.
I'm looking forward to the Zmorphics product though, because Poser animation in Carrara would be ultra cool to have.
take care, Robin
