Quite obviously, it would take enormous amounts of time to create
full integration with poser, bryce etc. external programs. That time
and money would be away from developing better animation capabilities
for carrara including improved bones, timeline, morpher, modifiers,
particles, dynamics, soft-body dynamics, faster opengl,...

And I've said it before, but here i go again. For example poser uses
morph targets for facial expressions. To import that reasonably into
any application, that same feature must exist in your target app as
well. The same issue as recently discussed porblem of importing just
plain 2D lines into carrara. IF they are not in carrara, you can't
import them!! Pretty simple. Or do you want to import your poser 5
figures with 3 quadrizillion polygons as an animation data where
eachvertex is animated. Any computer will choke on that. And it's not
reasonably editable in carrara after that...

If you want to use poser for animation. Why not render there? Just
make custom props and scene in carrara, export, then import into
poser and render there. I don't like poser and don't use it. But i've
done that and it seemed to work with older versions.
