Hi,

Ignoring the problems currently inherent in motion paths, you could
do it as follows.  Create a group and give it a motion path.  Then
duplicate the group as many times as you need.  Adjust the distance
along path for each group so they are all different.  Then put
whatever objects you want into each group.  At least that should work
in theory.
