If you use polylines, they propably won't import. And not even
normal lines, i think.

Here is why: Carrara is purely 3d app, whereas acad is also 2d. If
you save lines as lines, there is no counterpart for them inside
carrara. I mean that you can't find lines anywhere inside assembly
room. You can only import lines into spline modeler as cross-
sections and such.

Many 3d importeres handle lines by ignoring them. Some convert them
to something else...

In theory, Carrara could import them into vertex modeler. In that
case, that model would be invisible inside assembly but lines would
be there if you open the vertex object. There you could connect the
open lines and fill them, extrude, etc. But this would of course
require reprogramming the importer.
