ok you plug-in developers out there (well that would mainly be
eric) :-)and eovia...
the number one most requested plug-in was a Poser to Carrara
importer. users want to be able to import figures, clothing, props,
textures and animation data. definately a tall order, but if any you
programmres out there want to tackle this one, you will make a
killing. Poser importers exist for other 3D apps. so it can be done.
runner up plug-ins:
bones manager, to create efficient walk cycles and character
animation.
some sort of scripting manager was also requested repeatedly. people
who replied mentioned the CD4 Xpresso scripting environment as an
example.
soft bodied physics
fluid, cloth dynamics
Translucency
Anisotropic reflections (what ever that is)
Subsurface scattering
Replication of objects on a predetermined path with
random variations in orientation and position.
Allow volumetric effects like fog, fire and clouds
to be contained in a user defined shaped and not only
in a box, cylinder or sphere.
A BVH importer: imports BVH and FBX files and applies them to
skeletoned bipeds and quadrapeds.
