Hi all experts,
I am wondering if this has been discussed in the past, but if it
does, then I apologize for reopening the issue.
I am trying to bring in an ACAD 2D DWG drawing into Carrara 3, say an
architectural plan, and I have found that I cannot directly import
one into Carrara 3 sucessfully without the help of another
application. I use Lightwave as well, the only way that I have found
so far to work around this is, briefly, to export the DWG from ACAD
into DXF, and open the DXF in Lightwave, scale the DXF in lightwave
precisely to the correct scale, and then export it into an OBJ
object. Load the Obj model into Carrara 3, and there, the model
loads correctly.
However, is there a correct procedure to precisely import a 2D DWG or
DXF into Carrara without the help of another app?
Again, my apologies if this is a closed issue or has been discussed
before.
