Back PLEASE REFER TO THE "BAD SHADER" PIC IN THE GROUP'S PHOTO SECTION
I haven't done much in the vertex modeling & it's shading...
I have a big problem with the "bad shader" model, mentioned above...
The end columns of the sign are rectangular primitives with a nice colonial brick shader applied with good results...
the elements in the middle are curved extrusions imported into the spline modeler & then modified with a subtractive curve with a Boolean operation...
I then sent the shapes to the vertex modeler to adjust the heights...
to shade the 2 curved shapes, I took an eyedropper sample from the end columns...
resulting in the corrupted smeared look shown in the picture...
my Question:
how can I correct this phenomenon & prevent it on other projects in the future?
