Back Hyperthreading = multi threading = support for multiple processor, logical or physical
If you disable multi-threading, carrara can't spread itself over the second processor. Sure, you'll take the speed hit in carrara. But on the other hand, you are free to do something else on the second proc.
I'm not sure (have'nt had a dual processor machine for 3 years), but i vaguely remember there is a way to do this in OS level...
